December 30, 2008

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

For Christmas, we did the usual Byrd Family Christmas routine for Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Matt's family came to meet mine the day after Christmas! Everyone got a long great, and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

We got a TON of wedding planning accomplished in just TWO days! We booked our caterer and picked out a menu. We also booked a photographer and have begun to look through pictures to decide exactly what we want. We picked out beautiful tablecloths, overlays, and candlebras to decorate the fellowship hall. We decided on a cake baker, and picked out our wedding cake. I am very excited about my cake. Its absolutely gorgeous...and delicious!

We have made an appointment for engagment pictures, and to meet with my florist at the end of January. (we gave ourselves just enough time to lose the extra Christmas pounds before pictures). I am trying to decide on flowers. Any ideas? My colors are chocolate brown, tiffany blue, and cream. I really like roses and calla lillies. Just don't know how to put it together the right way.

I just ordered our save the date magnets, and am going to pick up my wedding dress tomorrow after work! Matt and I are on a roll! We are having so much fun! I haven't left "engagement land" since Matt proposed.

Mama and Daddy got me a heart rate monitor that measures how many calories you burn while you work out. I have determined I am not very good at being healthy. I was so proud of myself last night, because I burned 853 calories. THEN I turned around and ate gummy worms for dinner tonight! I refuse to be out of shape in my bathing suit in Jamaica (or wedding dress)...its not happening. My New Years Resolution is going to be to eat healthy until May! I am saying this while eating an Oreo, so we will see how long this resolution lasts!

I didn't take many pictures over Christmas. Mama took a bunch, so I will post those soon!

Matt gave me a camera for Christmas! I needed a new one badly! He took a few pics to test it out, and teach me how to use it.

Test picture # 1. I was very excited to take this picture. Can't you tell? ;)

Test picture # 2!

Our Christmas Tree

My future mother-in-law and I! She's the greatest!

These must have been Matt's favorite ornaments!

Of course we took a picture of my ring with the new camera, too! :)

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Not Me Monday!

I got this off of one of my favorite blogs. http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. These a few things I did NOT do this week. Oh this is so much fun!

I most certainly did not drop my cell phone in the sink while making dinner for Matt on Friday night. If this would have happened and AT&T offered me a free phone, I would never let this offer pass and just buy a cheap phone to avoid driving clear across town. And there is NO WAY this is the third phone I have been through this year. I would never do careless things with my cell phone.

I did not make a simple Campbells Soup pasta for dinner Friday night, and mess it up. Matt and I most certainly did not eat half cooked noodles in our pasta. After all, I am going to be his wife...I know how to cook-especially something that easy!

I definitely did not gorge myself at O'Charleys by eating five rolls, a bowl of chili, and a buffalo chicken sandwich for dinner on Saturday night. I would never do that. I have to work on my wedding figure after all, and I would never stuff my face with that much food!

I did not spray myself with men's cologne while shopping on Sunday afternoon to see what it smelt like on skin instead of paper. I would never walk around the mall smelling like a man. Not me!

I thouroughly read the directions on my hair vitamins. I knew I was suppose to take ONE vitamin three times a day. I would never skim over such important information. I would not just read the serving size and take THREE at one time. I definitely did not do that and stay sick all night Sunday! Nope, not me!

What did you NOT do this week?

GETTING STARTED!

I have wanted to get a blog started to keep my family and friends "in tune" with what is going on in my life for a while now. It's so hard to keep in touch with everyone when they are over a hundred miles away! I figured there couldn't be a better time than now! I have lots to talk about with all of the fun and craziness that comes along with wedding planning, and starting a new page in my life.

Matt proposed on November 22nd, and I have been smiling ever since! We will be getting married on May 30th at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise. Our wedding colors are going to be chocolate brown, light blue, and cream. We have a wedding website with all of the details about the proposal and the wedding:
www.theknot.com/ourwedding/KristinByrd&MatthewFall

We have been productive and accomplished a great deal over the past month with our wedding planning. Now that I have ordered my dress, I feel like a bride and everything has kind of "sunk in". Matt and I are meeting with photographers, caterers, and cake bakers this weekend. Lots of fun decisions to be made! I love that Matt has been so involved. He must know that I am not good at decisions, and that I desperately need his help!

I feel blessed to have such wonderful friends, and a loving fiancé. They have been very supportive!

It's CHRISTMAS time...

I battled the Christmas crowds and traffic with Jessica and Laney Sunday after church. I finished my Christmas shopping, with the exception of my baby brother. He's so hard to buy for, but I think I've figured out what to get him. Looks like I am going to be battling that Christmas traffic once again before I leave Birmingham.

I am heading to the wonderful "City of Progress" on Christmas Eve after work. I can't wait to be at home with my family.

Matt left Saturday to go to Arab for Christmas. He's only been gone a couple days, but it feels like he's been gone a year! Only a couple more days though! He is coming to Enterprise the day after Christmas. His family is coming too!! This will be their first trip to Enterprise, and the first time they get to meet my family. I can't wait!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
